Whether you’re just getting started or want to take your skills to the next level, practice is the key to riding safe and confidently. South Dakota offers plenty of motorcycle safety courses to give you time on the seat and the skills you need to master the open road.

Find a Class

Basic rider courses

New to riding? This is the place to start. This program combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience to teach you essentials like straight-line riding, braking, shifting, cornering and swerving.

Motorcycles are provided, and upon completion, you’ll get a waiver for the written and riding portions required for a motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license.
